The Tulaan calendar is the system of dates used in the Story of Arceus duology.
Description
The Tulaan calendar is a solar calendar consisting of four months of 90 days each. Despite being called "months" in English, they correspond to the four seasons and have no apparent relation to any lunar orbit. The names of the months are the literal Quayoffi terms for the seasons.
| Name | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Viosna | Spring |
| Lato | Summer |
| Yeshinye | Autumn |
| Zshima | Winter |
Additionally, months are futher subdivided into weeks of 5 days each, named Pieyrshve, Nahstempnye, Shiroffkove, Kontinuwavatch, and Konsova. The day of the week corresponds to the day of the month modulo 5: for example, the first of each month will always be Pieyrshve.
Years are grouped into centuries, called turns, referencing the orbit of Sanshiyad. The first year of a turn, year 0, begins when Sanshiyad is first visible behind the highest peak in the northeast of Tulaan. Years are indexed first by the turn number, then by the year within the turn, such as "6th Turn, 62", or abbreviated, "6T62". Years before 0T00, the end of the Second War of Arcea, are grouped the same way but count backwards, with groups of 100 years being refered to as "Build".
